Transparency in Coverage Rule (2022) MRFs

The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (CAA) established protections for consumers related to surprise billing and transparency in health care. As part of the “No Surprises Act”, the Transparency in Coverage Rule requires medical self-funded plans to make available to all machine-readable files (MRF) which contain medical consumer price transparency information; this information must be made publicly available and accessible with no authentication required.

UnitedHealthcare, our medical carrier, creates and publishes the MRFs on behalf of Lemek.  These MRFs will be posted monthly on beginning July 1, 2022.

To locate and view these Machine-Readable Files (MRF) information:

  • Click the link:
  • Hit Ctrl-F on your keyboard to bring up a search bar.
  • Type in “Lemek” or “Panera” and the associated MRFs will appear.
  • Example:  2022-07-01_LEMEK-LLC-DBA-PANERA-BREAD_POS-CHOICE-PLUS_allowed-amounts.json.gz

Multiple files may appear.  Select the ones with Lemek and the area of interests (network rates, allowed amounts, etc.).  Files will be updated monthly in accordance with the requirements.

For more information, continue to refer to the Transparency in Coverage external page and the Transparency In Coverage FAQs on which are updated frequently.
